The women's bantamweight fight between promising prospect Aspen Ladd (9-1-0) and Macy Chiasson (8-1-0) scheduled for Saturday's UFC Fight Night card in Las Vegas has been called off following the sport's latest disturbing weigh-in.
As Marc Raimondi explained for ESPN, Ladd failed to make weight and nearly lost her balance on multiple occasions as she raised her hands on the scale. It took over five minutes for the athletic commission to register her weight as she shook throughout the process and seemed in no condition to compete at any point this weekend.

Ladd, 26, once looked like a potential future contender and is currently No. 3 in the official UFC rankings at bantamweight. However, she hasn't fought since she defeated Yana Kunitskaya in December 2019, first because the promotion's schedule was altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and later because she suffered a torn ACL and MCL in training.
Per MMA Junkie, Ladd previously visibly struggled during her weigh-in ahead of her matchup against Germaine de Randamie in July 2019 and then suffered a 16-second knockout loss the following evening.
Chiasson, 30, has notched back-to-back victories in the Octagon and last defeated Marion Reneau this past March. She sits No. 11 in the UFC rankings in the division.
