According to Athlon Sports, one of the most anticipated fights of the 2025 season my never take place.

The negotiations for a matchup between current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall are still in limbo.

UFC fans everywhere are anxious to see the two clash in the Octagon to see who the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion will be.

Aspinall, currently the No. 1 ranked heavyweight appears to be anticipating the fight as much as fans are. Apparently, Jones is the reason that the fight negotiations have stalled.

This past weekend, Tom Aspinall took to his social media to call out Jones.

Aspinall said he was ready: anytime, anyplace, any day, and anywhere.

Aspinall said, “What’s holding it up at the moment is HIS SIDE.”

“I have spoken to the UFC on multiple occasions about this fight. I’m chasing it. I’ve been on the record saying I want the fight…What’s holding it up right now is his side. That’s the truth of it. The UFC really really wants this fight to happen. This is one of the biggest fights that can be made…This is now totally down to Jon Jones and his team to work that out, and I’m literally waiting for a date,” Aspinall continued.

Aspinall will keep trying to entice Jones to fight this year. He has even threatened to end Jones’ career.

“I will retire Jon Jones without even fighting him. Jon, let’s do it. You don’t have to ask me twice. If not, I’ll fight somebody else for the undisputed belt. I’ll fight anybody, anytime, anywhere. It doesn’t matter, I’m ready to go,” Aspinall said.
