Welterweight champion Belal Muhammad (24-3, 1 NC) heads into his first title defense this weekend filled with confidence. "Remember the Name" takes on No. 5 ranked Jack Della Maddalena (17-2) in the UFC 315 main event and gave his prediction.
Muhammad plans to 'bully' Della Maddalena before knocking him out at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
“My nickname’s ‘Bully B.’ I do see myself as a bully,” Muhammad said during the UFC 315 Media Day. “I bully all these guys in the cage, so I’m gonna keep doing it.”
“Yeah, I’m gonna knock him out,” Muhammad continued. “I’m gonna go in there and show that I’m the best boxer in the welterweight division, I’m the best fighter in the welterweight division, and I’m gonna show my dominance again."
Muhammad believes he's largely underrated but his opponents quickly realize how good he is when they're locked in the cage with him. He plans to 'break' Della Maddalena.
“I think everything about me is underrated. People go in there and assume stuff, but when they get into the cage with me then they realize what it is. They realize what these hands do. They realize what this pressure does, and it breaks everybody.”
