A former UFC commentator is set to make his long-awaited return to the promotion next week.

UFC Vegas 109 featured some remarkable highlights from the Apex in Las Vegas.

Anthony Hernandez put himself into the title picture with a dominant win over Roman Dolidze that extended his winning streak to eight.

Elijah Smith produced a slam knockout that is already in contention to be the best finish of the year, which earned him a performance of the night bonus.

One of the other highlights for some fans was an announcement that was made during the broadcast that confirmed the surprising return of a beloved figure.

Fans react to Brian Stann being confirmed for the UFC 319 weigh-in show

Brian Stann produced some memorable fights during his 11 appearances inside the Octagon from 2009 to 2013.

However, it was his work as a commentator that made fans truly love the ‘All American’ and clearly, his presence has been missed.

Though he did eventually take on an advisory role with the PFL the following year, Stann announced in 2017 that he’d be stepping down from his commentary duties to pursue a different career.

He’s now set to return to the UFC for the promotion’s event next weekend in Chicago, UFC 319, where he will be a part of the weigh-in show.

After Stann’s comeback was announced during the UFC Vegas 109 broadcast, fans were clearly incredibly happy to have him back in the fold, hoping that this will lead to a more substantial return.

‘He was the best color analyst!’

‘He was the best color commentator. I’d love to see him call fights again at some point.’

‘Stann’s a talented broadcaster, I always like when he’s part of the team.’

‘Fantastic news, he’s greatly missed in the sport!’

‘The best to ever do it.’

‘Best news of the week.’

Brian Stann ended his UFC career with a classic matchup against a legend of the sport

While Brian Stann wasn’t a member of the UFC roster for a long time, he was still able to achieve a run that is filled with highlights.

The American earned three fight of the night bonuses inside the Octagon, with one of them coming in the final fight of his UFC career.

In March of 2013, Stann collided with Brazilian icon Wanderlei Silva in a crazy bout that lasted until the second round where the ‘All American’ was stopped.

Silva’s win would end up being the final victory of his legendary career before he went on to compete twice in Bellator.
