The 22-year-old boxer, heavily criticized for an illegal head-kick knockout, has transitioned to MMA and is now training with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The incident happened during Abdurashidov’s boxing debut, where a knockout blow drew widespread condemnation across the sport.

Many fans believed he should have faced criminal charges, especially since the kick left his opponent unconscious at the Ali Boxing Club in Thailand.

Idris was not charged but did receive a lifetime ban from boxing. Even so, that highlight-reel finish did not end his career – instead, it put him on the radar of some big names in MMA.

Idris Abdurashidov is currently 5-0 in MMA

Since being banned from boxing, Abdurashidov has made a name for himself in MMA, where head kicks are not only allowed but celebrated.

Nicknamed “The Aggressor,” he has earned the title early in his career.

Competing at featherweight, he holds a record of 5-0. Four of those wins came before his infamous boxing debut.

Abdurashidov fought again on June 17, facing Chinese prospect Mulati Yimahazi at JCK Fight Night 100.

He did not land another highlight-reel head kick, but he still made short work of his opponent inside the octagon.

The bout began with both fighters exchanging powerful blows. Yimahazi then attempted a double-leg takedown, but Abdurashidov countered by dropping to his back and securing a guillotine choke.

This rendered Yimahazi unconscious, leading to Abdurashidov’s fifth consecutive win in the first round.

Idris has been working with Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former UFC Lightweight champion who retired unbeaten in 2020.

Khabib’s wrestling was among the best ever seen in the Octagon, and his submission victories over fighters like Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier built that reputation.

It would not be surprising if some of that influence is starting to show in Abdurashidov’s style now that they have spent time training together.

‘The Aggressor’ posted a photo from one of their sessions on Instagram, showing himself alongside others after a workout. The caption simply read: “After hard work.”

If he can continue to put his past controversies behind him and build on this momentum, training with someone like Khabib could play a major role in where his career goes next.
