Sean Brady has withdrawn from the UFC Vegas 124 main event against Gabriel Bonfim due to injury.
MMA Fighting confirmed Thursday that Brady pulled out of the Nov. 7 card at the Apex, following an initial report from Laerte Viana. The promotion is searching for a replacement to face Bonfim on short notice. The nature of Brady's injury has not been disclosed.
The withdrawal is a setback for both welterweights, who were positioned to climb the rankings with a win. Brady was coming off a lopsided victory over Joaquin Buckley in his most recent appearance, while Bonfim has won five straight, including a finish of former champion Belal Muhammad.
The co-main event remains intact, with Tatiana Suarez facing Virna Jandiroba in a strawweight bout. The UFC has not announced a timeline for naming Bonfim's opponent.
