PERTH, Australia — UFC light heavyweight contenders Carlos Ulberg and Dominick Reyes aren’t sweating reports that their UFC Fight Night 260 main event has struggled to sell tickets.
Ulberg (12-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) and Reyes (15-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) headline Saturday’s card at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, in a pivotal clash that could shape the next wave of title contenders at 205 pounds.
Earlier this week, Australia’s 7 News reported that sluggish demand forced discounts on tickets. UFC executive Dave Shaw downplayed the concerns, and the headliners echoed that confidence Friday at the pre-fight press conference.

Ulberg suggested that the card’s ticket sales might be competing with one of the country’s biggest sporting events: the AFL grand finals.
“Not at all, I think you’re competing with the AFL grand finals as well, so that’s a big thing and here in Perth, they follow it religiously,” Ulberg said. “That’s something we’re definitely competing with, but it’s massive on its own as you can see right now. Every time we fight here in Perth or when I’ve witnessed fights here in Perth, it’s always been electric, it’s always been massive. When the day comes, it’s all going to happen, it’s going to come together.”
Reyes kept it simple, saying that the product in the octagon should speak for itself.
“I mean if you don’t want to see a badass fight, you’re going to miss it,” Reyes said. “So, you guys better get your tickets and get ready to watch the show.”
The Reyes-Ulberg showdown comes at a critical time for the light heavyweight division. Champion Magomed Ankalaev defends his belt in a rematch against Alex Pereira at UFC 320 on Oct. 4 in Las Vegas, while Jiri Prochazka also returns on that same card against Khalil Rountree.
A statement win in Perth could put either Reyes or Ulberg at the front of the contender line making Saturday’s event less about ticket sales and more about who seizes the opportunity inside the cage.
