'CCP vs CCC' – Ex-champion Petr Yan endorses ‘Kung Fu Kid’ calling out Henry Cejudo to fight in China
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The bantamweight division in MMA has some of the best fighters right now, especially in the UFC. With Merab Dvalishvili likely next to challenge champion Sean O’Malley, other contenders are vying to be next in line. Song Yadong recently called out Henry Cejudo , which now got the endorsement of Petr Yan , his recent opponent.

Yadong called out Cejudo for a matchup in China, where the latter won the Olympic Gold medal in 2008. However, Cejudo respected the callout and the location but revealed his interest in fighting Yan first. Now Yan has come forth with a hilarious tweet.

CCP vs. CCC: The triple clown return to the land of his forgotten past achievements. Book it! Petr Yan via X

Yan, Cejudo, and Yadong are three, five, and seven in the bantamweight rankings of the UFC, respectively. Cejudo lost his last fight at UFC 298 to Dvalishvili. Moreover, Yan defeated Yadong at UFC 299. The UFC usually matchmakes fighters coming off losses against each other. As such, Yadong’s callout was realistic.

Yan had recently beefed with Marlon Vera, but the latter claimed the former didn’t accept the fight. Moreover, UFC recently announced Vera vs. Deiveson Figueiredo for the August UFC fight night card in UAE. Yan had suffered multiple injuries in the UFC 299 fight against Yadong. Therefore, he might need an extended time off.

Henry Cejudo’s hilarious interaction with Petr Yan

Petr Yan looked unbeatable when he became the UFC champion. Yan became the champion after he defeated Jose Aldo to claim the bantamweight title vacated by Henry Cejudo. Yan and Cejudo have been feuding on social media for a long time, often trading offensive barbs against one another.

However, when they first interacted in person, it was cordial. They met for the first time at the UFC PI, weeks before UFC 285. Cejudo had announced his comeback at the time. Yan was at the PI, training for his upcoming fight against Merab Dvalishvili a week after UFC 285.

The hilarious encounter happened while Cejudo was talking to UFC flyweight Amir Albazi. In the hilarious confrontation, Yan asked about Cejudo trolling him with the phrase ‘ugly potato.’ Cejudo countered with Yan, comparing his height with that of Hasbulla Magomedov.

Yan went on to lose the fight against Dvalishvili via unanimous decision. The Russian fighter couldn’t thwart the pressure fighting style of the Georgian fighter. Similarly, Cejudo lost the bantamweight title fight to Aljamain Sterling , Dvalishvili’s best friend, at UFC 288.
