Chris Weidman is willing to fight Anderson Silva on the Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano undercard

Netflix’s first MMA card may have its next big names lined up.

The streaming giant will continue building its combat sports profile by branching out into mixed martial arts with Ronda Rousey’s comeback fight against Gina Carano.

On May 16, the two pioneers of women’s MMA will return from lengthy layoffs to headline a Netflix event at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

While that fight alone will draw plenty of eyes, many are expecting a number of prominent fighters to contribute to a stacked undercard.

Nothing has been announced regarding the other fights as of yet, but Netflix has been put on notice by one ready and willing UFC legend.

Chris Weidman would accept MMA trilogy against Anderson Silva for a big paycheck

Former middleweight champion Chris Weidman is still awaiting his first fight outside of the UFC, having only competed in one grappling match since departing his longtime organization.

The American did have his return booked against Anderson Silva in 2025, with the pair scheduled to renew hostilities inside the boxing ring.

Weidman was forced out of the Silva trilogy on the most recent Jake Paul card due to injury. With the Netflix event on May 16 coming under the banner of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, those two MMA greats may be getting a call.

And if the pitch is a third MMA fight between ‘The All-American’ and ‘The Spider’, Weidman recently told Mike Bohn on The Bohnfire podcast that he would be down.

“We’d have to get paid a lot of money,” Weidman said. “I’d be interested, but it would have to be big.

“We shall see what happens. He knocked out Tyron Woodley, he called me out. We were supposed to box before that…I wouldn’t mind putting it on him for old time’s sake.

“It would be a harder task just as far as training with my body to do MMA,” he continued. “I would have way more advantages fighting Anderson in MMA.

“But just getting through the training camp and everything would be the battle.”

Weidman shockingly knocked out Silva at UFC 162 in 2013 before the Brazilian’s devastating leg break brought their rematch to an end at UFC 168.
