Dana White confirms UFC White House card is complete but refuses to announce fights: ‘So expensive’

Dana White has promised an event ‘so unique, so special’ but ultimately expensive after finalizing the UFC White House card this week.

UFC CEO White has been in the infamous ‘war room’ this week as the promotion plots an historic night on June 14 in Washington, DC. And while he refused to budge on details, even refusing to list an amount of title fights, he vowed to make the show ‘so bada–‘.

Almost every major name in company history has been angling to get on the card, from Conor McGregor to Jon Jones. And White will soon head to Washington to run through the show with President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka.

Dana White confirms UFC White House card has been made

For months, Dana White has batted away questions from reporters about the UFC White House event by insisting that he has yet to discuss matchmaking at all. But he can now expect a media onslaught after confirming that the event has been matched during a post-fight press conference tonight.

Following Zuffa Boxing 3 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, White told the press: “We have two different options laid out and the matchmaking process is already laid out so, yeah. We got the White House card done last week.”

Asked if he could divulge any details, even such as how many title fights would feature, he replied that he is “not saying anything.”

Dana White appears to contradict himself after claiming UFC White House card is ‘done’

After explicitly stating that the event was ‘done’, White then told another reporter who asked moments later: “I didn’t say it was done, I said the card was built.” He repeated that the promotion have now laid out two particular directions they could go.

“I’m not talking about the White House card… We’ve been kicking around a lot of ideas and me and Borsari actually fly to DC this week and sit down with the President and his team and start walking them through not just the production but the fight card.

“We have like three different options on all the different production stuff and we will see what he likes and what he doesn’t like.”

It seems that White and President Trump may have different ideas regarding the size of the crowd for the event. The UFC boss once said that it would be a small crowd of dignitaries, while the President has now claimed an arena with massive capacity will somehow be erected just for the night to allow fans in.
