Dana White hints at Charles Oliveira vs Max Holloway BMF title rematch plans

It looks like Dana White is fully backing a rematch between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira.

Charles Oliveira, fresh off a home-soil victory, has set his sights on a BMF title bout against Max Holloway after returning to form with an impressive win.

Oliveira made quick work of Polish standout Mateusz Gamrot, finishing the fight in the second round and wasting no time in calling for a match-up with Holloway.

With their history at featherweight still fresh, the Sao Paulo native is pushing hard for the fight, eyeing a potential slot at next summer’s UFC White House event.

White hints at interest in Oliveira vs. Holloway BMF title rematch

Oliveira and Holloway first met in an overlooked bout during a rare UFC event in Saskatoon, with the fight ending in unusual circumstances for the Brazilian.

The main event saw Oliveira drop to the mat after a collision near the cage, later diagnosed as a tear in his oesophagus.

The unusual finish has led to occasional talk of a rematch between the two ever since. Following Oliveira’s rise above Holloway in the latest rankings, White has shown interest in setting up another meeting for the BMF belt.

“Yeah, I mean, that is obviously a fight that would be incredible — to see them two [Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira] again. “We don’t have anything — we talked about it [that fight] today, though,” White revealed.

Oliveira extended his record as the UFC’s top finisher with another submission victory over Gamrot. The Brazilian also earned a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his second-round neck crank finish.

Back in Guaruja, Oliveira reportedly spent the entire bonus to throw a party for children in his hometown, fulfilling a promise he had made before the fight.
