The combat sports community may never know who would win in a fight between UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and undisputed heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, but UFC president Dana White is willing to find out.
In a recent interview with BroBible, White stated that he was all for a Fury-Jones fight in the Octagon, even hinting that he’s willing to make it financially worthwhile for the 34-year-old boxer.
“If Tyson is serious, and he wants to do it — listen, I got Floyd Mayweather to fight (Conor McGregor), and we paid Floyd,” White said. “We got Floyd the number he wanted. If Tyson Fury is serious, and he wants to fight Jon Jones in the UFC, let’s start talking.”
A possible Fury-Jones fight started gaining traction recently after UFC commentator Joe Rogan stated that if the two fighters were locked in a room, Jones would be the one to walk out. Fury took offense to Rogan’s remarks, responding that he and not Jones would be the one walking out of the room.
Hey Tyson, it seem like Joe may have struck a nerve. I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage. If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest,…

“Jon Jones is the baddest dude on the planet,” White said. “There’s no debate, there’s no denying it. Yeah, there’s no debate. I don’t care what anybody says or how they try to spin it. A lot of this stuff is clickbait. You know how I am: If Tyson Fury really wants to fight Jon Jones in the UFC, I will make it happen. … Tyson, if you’re serious, let me know.”
Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, has a 33-0-1 professional record with 24 wins via knockout or TKO. He’s the No. 1-ranked heavyweight and No. 7-ranked pound-for-pound boxer, according to ESPN.
Jones, the UFC heavyweight champion and former light heavyweight champion, has a 27-1 record with 10 wins via knockout or TKO. His only loss was by disqualification for use of illegal elbows. He’s the No. 1-ranked heavyweight and pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC’s official rankings.
