On the UFC 321 prelims on Saturday night, one of the most brutal knockouts of all time was scored in a lightweight bout.

This past Saturday, the premier promotion returned to Abu Dhabi for UFC 321, headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane.

The disastrous end to the main event left a sour taste in many fans’ mouths and throughout the entire card, only three stoppages were scored, with the rest of the fights going to a decision.

However, one of the stoppages that was scored on the prelims was one of the scariest knockouts in UFC history, which left lightweight contender Nasrat Haqparast unconscious for several minutes.

Dana White provides update on Haqparast following horrifying KO

Haqparast was coming into his fight against Quillan Salkilld on an impressive five fight win streak and was potentially looking to climb closer to the rankings with a win over the 25-year-old.

Despite that, he was met with a thunderous head kick halfway into the first round which left him face down on the Octagon canvas for several minutes, causing worry around the arena.

Thankfully, by the time Bruce Buffer was announcing the official result, Haqparast was back on his feet and was being assisted out of the cage.

And it wasn’t until the post-fight press conference when Dana White provided an update on the status of the Moroccan fighter.

“Yeah, he’s good, we literally got (the update) walking through the door. I mean, I don’t know if he’s good but he’s healthy. He’s very upset but he’s healthy,” White said.

Haqparast breaks his silence with post on social media

Having suffered one of the most brutal knockouts of all time, Haqparast will likely take a significant amount of time away from the Octagon as he hopes to recover.

And not long after the end of the event, the Moroccan fighter shared an update of his own on social media, thanking his fans for their love and support.

“Today was not (my) night but I will come back stronger. Thanks everyone for their love and support,” Haqparast said.
