Last week, UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland made a series of posts on social media complaining about fighter pay. He expressed a desire to box and stated that his heart wasn’t in mixed martial arts anymore.

White hasn’t personally spoke with Strickland but responded to the two-time champion’s claims during the Dana White’s Contender Series Post-Fight Press Conference on Tuesday.

“I’ve just heard through social media and stuff, but yeah. When isn’t Sean Strickland upset about something or doesn’t have something to say? Sean Strickland just signed a new contract in May,” White said.

“He just signed a new contract in May. Just signed a new deal like four months ago, five months ago, he signed a new deal. From what I hear, from the number he’s putting put there, it’s not true. The number that he claimed he made isn’t true.

“It is what it is. If we were in a situation where he’d been under the same contract for a year, two years… He just signed a contract in May. He got a whole new deal in May. It is what it is.”

Strickland hasn’t fought since May when he defeated Khamzat Chimaev via spilt decision at UFC 328 to become a two-time titleholder.
