Dana White Takes Shot At 'Nobody' Members Of MMA Media

There's nothing Dana White hates more than being criticized, which of course means that media members tend to be at the top of his enemies list.

In an interview with David Senra, White explained in expletive-filled detail why he so often gets into arguments with the media. He said point-blank that most people who criticism him are "nobodies" who haven't accomplished enough to question him on what sound business practices are.

“My biggest problem with the media? Who the [censored] are you and what the [censored] have you ever done? Nothing,” White said. “You’re nobody, and you’ve never done anything ever. Nobody’s ever depended on you for a paycheck. Who are you to criticize anybody?”

“I was just saying at the press conference in Winnipeg on Saturday, you have all these people on the internet. Talking about what we should be doing with our business. I said, “Holy [censored], you guys are [censored] brilliant. PFL, Bellator, One FC, many, many other failing companies. Why don’t they just [censored] hire you guys? You guys have the answers for everything, right?

“I can’t even read this [censored] because it’s so dumb. And I realize these guys know nothing about this business, yet these are the people that are covering it. It’s fascinating to me that anybody listens to any of these people.”

Pushback

UFC fans weren't buying the argument from White though. Many took to the comments and pointed out that without media exposure - positive and negative - the UFC never would have been able to take hold the way it has.

"When he needed the media, he loved them. I remember him, back in the early days years ago, booking his own press and calling my cell phone one night, to tell me Chuck Liddell was on the other line ready for an interview," one reporter wrote on X.

"It’d be easier if everyone just addressed the elephant in the room. Journalists talk fighter pay. Dana gets upset. Bc massive pay days ruined boxing. Boxing is great now solely because Turkey pays huge sums and doesn’t care when his event loses money. Just own it, Dana lol," wrote another.

"The UFC quite literally depends on the media for a paycheck- hence Dana doing media rounds 24/7," a third wrote.

"Dana needs to get the [censored] over himself. He thinks he cured cancer or something. I give him respect for his business success, but he’s not God and there are plenty of people who have accomplished a lot more than he has and they’re not nearly the [censored] that he is."

"Some need to be given a shot and others he says this about bc they are right and criticize him. The UFC likes controlling the narrative."

As valid as those criticisms may be, White has reached a point in his career where he doesn't feel that he needs to listen to media criticism - valid or not.
