As the ongoing negotiations continue and doubts surround the Jones/Aspinall fight, MMAWeekly.com reports that Dana White remains confident that a deal can be brokered between the two fighters.
While the heavyweight division is stacked with plenty of talent all aiming to get a chance at UFC gold, there is only one fight that the fans are still clamoring to see at the top of the class.
If Jones doesn’t defend his title against Aspinall, all chaos will break in the UFC/MMA world—though luckily, that doesn’t sound like a possibility.
During recent interviews, Dana White reassured fans that they shouldn’t worry about the status of the fight as he confirmed that it will eventually happen.
“The fight’s going to happen,” White said regarding the Jones vs. Aspinall fight. “The fight’s going to happen.”
“It’s just a matter of when now and getting it signed and done, and the fight will happen,” White said.
White continued, “It’s done but it’s not done. Not done enough to sit right here now and announce it and give you a date but the fight’s going to happen.”
“It’s just a matter of getting it signed now… I’ve said it many times in between and I will say it again now, the fight’s going to happen,” White finished.
Not many details have been shared publicly regarding the fight but negotiations are pointing in the right direction.
