The UFC Apex, a state-of-the-art production hub next to the promotion’s headquarters, became a critical venue during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing the UFC to host events safely while other sports shut down.
Since then, it has remained a staple for Fight Night cards, Dana White’s Contender Series, and even non-UFC events like WWE and Power Slap. Recent reports claimed the venue was set for a dramatic expansion to accommodate between 5,000 to 10,000 spectators.
UFC President Dana White has denied these claims, dismissing the story as a fabrication and lashing out at the media outlet responsible for spreading it.
The initial report from sports outlet LV Sports Biz was discredited during the UFC 319 post-fight press conference, where White said, “That was the biggest bullsh— story ever written. It’s f— unbelievable.”

He emphasized that the quoted sources, including UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell, never spoke to LV Sports Biz outlet, which later retracted its initial claims and revised the expansion estimate to roughly 1,000 additional seats.
“They quoted people who literally said nothing to them,” White fumed. “Never spoke to them or anything. That entire story was an absolute bullsh— lie. The craziest thing we’ve ever seen.”
Despite the UFC’s $7.7 billion broadcast deal with Paramount kicking off in 2026, the promotion has no plans to abandon the Apex, which offers cost-effective production and flexibility for smaller events.
Fighters and fans have harbored mixed feelings about the venue. White has acknowledged these critiques but confirms the Apex is here to stay, especially for events that will not pull arena-sized crowds. The $20 million renovation he had mentioned last year is aimed at refining the venue’s functionality, not radically expanding the crowd capacity.
For White, however, the rant was less about the Apex’s future and more about holding irresponsible journalism accountable. With a low tolerance for media inaccuracies.
In the press conference, he mentioned calling UFC PR head Lenee Breckenridge to confirm the story’s falsehoods, ridiculing the story’s credibility, saying, "Lenee, this whole story is a lie, everything about it is a lie, including the people that they quoted! Never talked to them."
With the UFC exploring global expansion, the Apex will remain a key piece of its operations, especially as the promotion heads into its upcoming Paramount deal.
