Derrick Lewis did what only Derrick Lewis does best and that’s knock someone out. Rodrigo Nascimento is the latest victim to the Lewis hitlist. Lewis extended his lead as the all-time knockout leader of the UFC’s heavyweight division with a third-round TKO in St. Louis.

Lewis (28-12 MMA, 19-10 UFC) entered the fight ranked No. 12 by the UFC in the heavyweight division and had gone 2-5 over his past seven fights.
“I appreciate St. Louis for letting me show my naked ass tonight,” said Lewis. “I couldn’t let no taxicab driver from Brazil beat me.”
Nascimento (11-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) had limited success, he secured a takedown which was his only real highlight of the fight. The Black Beast displayed more wrestling in this fight. But his corner urged him to strike more and to get Nascimento out. The very next round, Lewis lands a crushing shot to the temple that dropped Nascimento. From that point on, it was a done deal as the referee came in to stop the fight.
