Dillon Danis wants to get revenge on Islam Makhachev after their scuffle at UFC 229 in 2018, and could hop into the cage later this year to make it happen.

Renowned troll Danis has been noticeably on his best behavior during fight week for his MMA return on Saturday night against Warren Spencer. But he bossed the microphone at a press conference last night that featured legends like Darren Till, Tony Ferguson and Luke Rockhold.

He has been told by UFC boss Hunter Campbell that he must get active in order to earn a dream deal with the promotion. And it’s likely they’ll want him on his best behavior as he finally restarts his push for a UFC contract.

Dillon Danis wants to avenge 2018 scuffle with Islam Makhachev

Dillon Danis and Islam Makhachev were both a part of the infamous UFC 229 brawl that marred Khabib Nurmagomedov’s win over Conor McGregor in the biggest pay-per-view of all time. And it still hasn’t left the New Yorker’s mind, who notes that he really wants to get the former lightweight champion back.

Speaking with Bloody Elbow, Danis joked that he might have to jump into the cage like Makhachev did the night of UFC 229 when the Russian next fights. And that might just be in his hometown as Dana White has announced Makhachev will face Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 in New York.

“I want Islam,” he noted. “Islam is a s—bag, I would submit him so easily, he’s never faced a grappler like me. I want to finish off where we started when he punched me in the back of the head that night seven years ago when I said I’d get my revenge one day.

“Islam’s s—, all them are s—. Maybe I will go [to UFC 322] and jump in the cage to get him back. UFC are very strict with me, though. When I go to events they make sure to have like seven security around me so I have to be careful because I’m trying to be in their good graces.”

Dillon Danis believes UFC 322 main event is 50/50 fight

While he has yet to decide on if he’ll attend, Danis admits that Jack Della Maddalena will have his hands full with the former lightweight champion Makhachev.

“Man, that’s a tough one to call to be honest with you,” Danis said of the super-fight. “Islam obviously has the advantage with the grappling.

“But Jack’s a good striker and he can get off some good stuff. I don’t know, I really think it’s a 50/50.”
