The UFC’s light heavyweight division is heating up again. UFC Perth could be the battleground that launches a new title contender. It’s official Dominick Reyes will face off against Carlos Ulberg in the main event of UFC Perth later this year. While reigning champion Magomed Ankalaev prepares for a rematch with former titleholder Alex Pereira, these two surging contenders are quietly climbing the ranks and now they’re headed for a potential breakout moment.

Dominick Reyes is riding high with three consecutive finishes, an impressive turnaround after a brutal four fight skid that once cast doubt on his future in the UFC. At 35 Reyes is once again flashing the same dynamic brilliance that nearly dethroned Jon Jones in their razor-thin 2020 title fight, a performance some still believe earned him the belt that night.

Dom is back!

This resurgence is more than just a streak. Reyes looks revitalized his timing is sharper, his confidence restored, and his striking carrying the same venom that made him one of the most feared contenders in the division. The left hand is landing again. The footwork is crisp. And most importantly, he’s getting the job done early.

With the light heavyweight division in flux and the title picture wide open. Reyes is quietly re-inserting himself into the conversation. He may not have the spotlight just yet, but if this version of Reyes sticks around, it won’t be long before he’s knocking on the door of another title shot.

Meanwhile, Carlos Ulberg is on an eight fight win streak, including a razor thin but defining win over former champion Jan Błachowicz. The kickboxer turned contender has steadily proven he belongs among the elite at 205.

With the division lacking headline stars outside of Pereira. With a decisive win in Perth could be enough to launch either man into a long-awaited title opportunity.
