Dricus du Plessis is aware of Belal Muhammad's recent comments, and he's fired back.

Du Plessis and Muhammad both hold UFC gold. "Stillknocks" is the reigning 185-pound titleholder, while "Remember The Name" holds gold at welterweight. Muhammad has teased making the jump to 185 pounds. He even told Barstool Sports Chicago that, "185 is probably the easiest division."

That comment made its way back to du Plessis, who has given the 170-pound champion a stern warning.

Appearing on "The Ariel Helwani Show," du Plessis was asked about Muhammad slandering the middleweight division.

"Belal Muhammad, I can't even remember the way he fights," du Plessis said. "I don't know. Has he ever finished anyone?"

Du Plessis doesn't even believe the UFC matchmakers would want Muhammad to fight for another title.

"I like how he acts as if he has a choice to ever go up to 185," du Plessis continued. "The UFC will never let him. If he wanted to do that, he would have to abandon his belt. He would give up him his belt, vacate it and go up to 185, and there's no way they give him a direct title shot. There's no way. The UFC doesn't even like Belal Muhammad."

If the fight were to come to fruition, du Plessis wouldn't expect much of a challenge. The middleweight king went as far as saying, "I step on his head and it's over."

Muhammad has yet to put his gold on the line. He was scheduled to defend his welterweight title against Shavkat Rakhmonov in late 2024, but he fell ill due to an infection. Fans now await the likely rebooking of Muhammad vs. Rakhmonov, but nothing has been made official at this time.

As for du Plessis, he recently scored a unanimous decision victory over Sean Strickland in their rematch at UFC 312. "Stillknocks" has told reporters that he expects to face Khamzat Chimaev next.
