Dustin Poirier: No interest in 4th Conor McGregor fight
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

Dustin Poirier is too busy chasing a title to pursue a massive potential payday, saying he is not interested in a fourth fight with Conor McGregor.

"I think that ship has sailed," Poirier told ESPN on Wednesday. "All I want is the UFC lightweight championship."

Poirier, 35, is fighting Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title at UFC 302 on June 1 in Newark, N.J.

Meanwhile McGregor, 35, has been out of the Octagon since a TKO loss to Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021 that ended with a broken leg for the Irishman.

It was the second straight win in the trilogy for Poirier, who also prevailed at UFC 257 in January 2021. McGregor won their initial meeting in 2014 at UFC 178.

"I don't feel the need to fight him again at all," Poirier told ESPN. "I don't need that (bad) energy in my life."
