The UFC women's flyweight division has crowned six champions since the promotion introduced the 125-pound weight class in 2017.

Nicco Montaño became the inaugural titleholder by defeating Roxanne Modafferi via unanimous decision at The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale in December 2017. Montaño never defended the belt, relinquishing it after a failed weight cut ahead of a scheduled bout with Valentina Shevchenko.

Shevchenko's Record-Setting Reign

Shevchenko claimed the vacant title by stopping Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 231 in December 2018 and went on to defend it seven consecutive times, establishing herself as the division's most dominant champion. Her run ended when Alexa Grasso submitted her with a face crank in the fourth round at UFC 285 in March 2023.

Grasso and Shevchenko fought to a split draw in their immediate rematch six months later, with Grasso retaining. The Mexican champion defended successfully once more before losing the belt to Manon Fiorot, who became the division's first French titleholder.

The current champion assumed the throne most recently, continuing the flyweight division's pattern of producing lengthy title reigns interrupted by sudden shifts in power.
