Another former UFC star has proven that fighters can succeed outside of MMA’s premier promotion.
Krzysztof Jotko joined the UFC in 2013 and remained a part of the middleweight roster for nine years.
The 36-year-old from Poland fought Sean Strickland and Uriah Hall during his 17-fight Octagon run.
Dana White cut Jotko from his promotion after a submission loss to Brendan Allen in October 2022.
Just over three years later, Krzysztof Jotko is on top of the world after winning five consecutive fights.
The last four of his victories were part of the Tipsport Gamechanger tournament hosted by OKTAGON.
Since April 2025, 16 middleweights have been scrapping for their share of a €1 million prize pool.

Competing fighters earn about €15,000 just for competing in the first round of the tournament.
Payouts increased each round, and the winner ultimately took home €300,000 at OKTAGON 82.
Jotko met Kerim Engizek in the tournament final in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Saturday night.
Engizek appeared to be a formidable opponent due to his 17-fight win streak, which dated back to 2014.
In the end, Jotko made it look easy as he scored a rear-naked choke submission win inside four minutes.
Sean Strickland’s former foe believes UFC Houston return will show his best days are behind him.
The former middleweight champion hasn’t fought since getting his nose pulverized during a second decision defeat to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 312 last February.
Strickland will return against Anthony Hernandez in the UFC Houston main event on February 21.
Krzysztof Jotko thinks Strickland is past his peak, and Hernandez will exploit that fact when they meet next month.
“Hernandez is a really, really dangerous guy,” Jotko said during an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.
“He can wrestle, and he has good submissions. He attacks submissions very fast.
“Strickland is a very good boxer, of course. He likes to fight in the stand-up but I think he has a lot of miles, a lot of fights.
“In my opinion, Strickland’s gonna go a little bit down from his shape, I think so.
“Maybe I’m wrong, but I think Strickland has his big fights behind him already.”
