Fans Predict Erin Blanchfield Vs. Maycee Barber

Erin Blanchfield takes on Maycee Barber this weekend as fans give their pick on who will come out victorious.

Blanchfield arrives into the fight with a 7-1 record. She defeated Rose Namajunas in her last bout via a unanimous decision. It was the perfect response to her loss to Manon Fiorot, which had ended her nine-fight week win streak. Meanwhile, Barber enters the fight with six wins in a row. She has stopped her last two opponents, beating Amanda Rivas and Katlyn Cerminara, respectively. The winner takes themselves a step closer to facing the UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko, who defeated Manon Fiorot in her last fight to retain the title.

“Maycee’s a pretty aggressive fighter. A lot of forward pressure. Big hooks. This is her first five-rounder, so I could see her possibly being a little more reserved, but I think that’s going to come out of her at some point. “I think with a really good performance – it’s winning, but it’s also how you win. [And] I plan on winning in an impressive fashion. I would love to take that title off of (Shevchenko). She’s a legend of the sport and definitely in the flyweight division. That’s definitely my plan,” Blanchfield said

“She’s just trying to figure out what she can say bad about me, because I think she can’t really talk anything bad about my style or anything about my marketability. I think it’s just the only thing she can say about me. That she thinks I might not show up to the fight versus her. I think her fighting style is terrible, and there’s a lot of things you can say about Erin Blanchfield. She’s a boring fighter, she has a terrible fighting style. It’s boring. Have you watched it? Do you think she’s an exciting fighter? She’s a good fighter, but is she an exciting fighter, though?,” Barber stated
