The ex-UFC UFC Heavyweight Champion of the World, Mark Coleman, is conscious in hospital after being taken there following his bravery in saving his parents from a house fire.
According to reports, the fire started in the kitchen near Toledo, Ohio. Coleman decided to rush in and save both his parents. After that, he decided to go back and save his dog. At that moment, Coleman suffered from smoke inhalation. He was then airlifted to the hospital with serious concerns over his health. Wes Sims, a close friend of Coleman, was worried.
“I’m a very firm believer in the power of prayer. I sent family and some friends a few pictures of Mark Coleman’s current condition. I know Mark, if he could talk he’d say ‘film this s***, Wes, we are going viral. Mark’s parents’ house burnt down last night.
“Mark saved both [his parents] and went back for Hammer, his dog. He was life flighted to Toledo and is currently intubated and sedated. I swear to God he’s one of the toughest individuals ever created, been through so much a movie at this point could not give his life’s work justice,” Sims said
Now, Coleman is in much better health. The following footage shows him moving around in bed and talking with his family. He then hugs his daughters, and the emotion is visible on his face. Coleman can be seen stating the following words.

“I swear to God, I’m so lucky. I can’t believe my parents are alive. [And] I had to make a decision. I got out of my room and went to the door and it was already horrible. I couldn’t breathe. [And] I almost had to go outside, but I went back and got them. [And] I can’t believe it. I got them (his parents) but couldn’t find Hammer [his dog],” Coleman stated
But Coleman’s dog, Hammer, unfortunately passed away.
Rest in Peace Hammer

Hammer is Mark Coleman’s dog who woke Mark up to alert him the house was on fire. Mark and his parents might not be here if it wasn’t for Hammer.

The news will increase Coleman’s legacy, which he has already established in the sport. The former MMA fighter is seen as one of the best heavyweights of all time. He first became the UFC Heavyweight Champion of the World at UFC 10, securing a victory over Don Frye to reach the pinnacle of his sport. He then became champion again at UFC 11. His accomplishments were acknowledged in 2008 when he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
But that was just the start. Coleman decided to compete in the PRIDE Fighting Championships. Further success followed as he was the first person to win the Pride Grand Prix Championship. Once his fighting days were over, Coleman directed his attention to coaching. He has been helping Matt Brown, who is coming off a victory over Court McGee. The news had understandably shaken Brown, who wished Coleman well.
“Sending out positive energy/prayers and power to my dude @Markcolemanmma tonight. He’s a hero and if anyone can get through this it’s him,” Brown stated
But MMA fans were delighted to see him doing much better.
That is a hell of a son who would give his life for his parents. Bless him.
