Gabriel Bonfim stops Randy Brown in UFC Vegas 111 main event

The octagon was at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for Saturday's UFC Vegas 111: Bonfom vs. Brown fight card. The event was headlined by a welterweight bout between former LFA welterweight champion Gabriel Bonfim and Randy Brown.

Bonfim entered the fight coming riding a three-fight winning streak. He had won five of his six octagon appearances and defeated former title challenger Stephen Thompson in his last outing.

Brown will made the walk to the octagon coming off a knockout win over Nicolas Darby in his last outing and looking to build on the momentum.

Bonfim invested in leg kicks early in the opening round while Brown looked to establish his jab. Bonfim delivered heavy leg kicks to Brown's lead leg. Brown began pressuring Bonfim. The leg kicks caused Brow to briefly switch stances. Bonfim went high with a kick but Brown took it. Bonfim moved forward. Brown met him with a combination. Bonfim continued to deliver leg kicks. After absorbing another leg kick, Brown exploded forward and missed with a flying knee. MMAWeekly scored the round 10-9 for Bonfim. 

They two had a heavy exchange early in the second frame. Picking cup where he left off in the first round, Bonfim delivered leg kicks. They two cliched and Bonfim fired off a knee that sent Brown crashing to the canvas. The referee quickly stopped the fight.  

The official time of the knockout was 1:40 of the second round.
