'Go home to your mom!' Coach Khabib is going VIRAL for putting Islam Makhachev through hell for UFC 302
Jasmin Frank-USA TODAY Sports

Coach, Khabib Nurmagomedov might be the biggest nightmare for Islam Makhachev. Ahead of the title defense at UFC 302, the ‘Eagle’ has come back to help Makhachev during his fight camp. While many fans are excited to see the former champion back in business, Makhachev might not be the biggest fan of it.

Recently, UFC shot the Countdown show for UFC 302. One of the moments of Khabib Nurmagomedov from the video got more attention from the fans. It essentially showed the determination and mindset of these Dagestani fighters. Here’s what Nurmagomedov said to Makhachev in the clip:

Following Nurmagomedov’s retirement, Islam Makhachev took up the Dagestani legacy in the UFC. However, the ‘Eagle’ gave himself over to coaching. The brutality of Nurmagomedov’s fight camps is well documented. The same thing has also been said by top welterweight Belal Muhammad . As the former lightweight champion, Nurmagomedov knows what it takes to be at the top.

Ahead of UFC 302, both Makhachev and Dustin Poirier are confident about their chances. On top of it, the ‘Diamond’ has even talked about getting a knockout finish over the Dagestani. Other than this, the fighter has also mentioned his potential retirement from the sport. Since it was announced, many fight fans were disappointed including many legends of the sport.

UFC Hall of Famer doesn’t like the idea of Dustin Poirier’s retirement

Making the retirement decision is definitely not the most easy task for any professional athlete. Dustin Poirier is 35 years old and knows that he won’t be able to hang around at the top for a long time. Daniel Cormier is a big fan of Poirier and doesn’t want the Louisiana native to hang his gloves just yet.

According to Cormier, he isn’t ready for Dustin Poirier’s retirement. DC also revealed that he doesn’t like when fighters plan their retirement while actively fighting.

I can’t stand hearing that it’s almost over for a guy that we all universally love and enjoy when he’s inside the octagon. I don’t love when athletes put a timeline or a finishing point on a career that’s still actively going on.  Daniel Cormier via his YouTube channel

Dustin Poirier has given a lot to the sport of MMA and has done it all. He has fought everybody and the only thing that he still yearns for is the lightweight title. The fighter is ready to give it all in what will probably be his last shot at the UFC gold.
