Henry Cejudo claims Conor McGregor ‘taking pages from WWE’ for fight promotion
[NETWORK PROPERTY]-USA TODAY NETWORK

Conor McGregor is back in the scene and he has trolled a bunch of fighters left and right. One of the top UFC contenders who caught the heat was former champion Kamaru Usman. Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman talked about McGregor’s statement on their podcast.

Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman recently sat down for a conversation on their ‘Pound 4 Pound’ podcast. During their discussion, they brought up Conor McGregor’s statement about Kamaru Usman which is when Henry Cejudo pointed out something interesting.

Conor's f------ trolling you. ... The only reason that could be is because he is that blue-eyed Devil! Henry Cejudo on Pound 4 Pound

Cejudo said that in order for McGregor to sell the fights that nobody else could sell, he has to continue being the ‘bad boy’. However, Cejudo pointed out how McGregor was able to switch it up and be respectful when he fought Hall Of Famer, Donald Cerrone. According to Cejudo, McGregor was ‘taking pages straight from the WWE’ when it came to promoting his fights.

Cejudo said it all depends on how Kamaru Usman would take McGregor’s comments. He acknowledged that nobody would want to be called a ‘bum’ at the end of the day. However, Usman too had some interesting things to say about McGregor’s trash-talking.

Is Kamaru Usman vs. Conor McGregor a potential fight in the UFC?

Conor McGregor and Kamaru Usman are both top fighters in their division. Both have not performed that well in their past few matchups. ‘The Notorious’ has been away from the fight scene for a while now after his leg injury around three years back.

Meanwhile, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has been on a losing streak in his past three fights. Nonetheless, the former welterweight champion was not going to take the disrespect. He said that ‘The Notorious’ should save the trash-talking for when there was a fight. He brought up how Colby Covington left nothing out when it came to trash-talking during their showdown at UFC 268.

That fight was Usman’s last UFC win as of now. Meanwhile, McGregor has returned heavier than he has ever been. This has opened up doors to potential fights at heavier weight classes. McGregor will be making his comeback fight against Chandler in the welterweight division at UFC 303.

Usman had revealed that McGregor had received opportunities for a showdown with him when he was the champion. So does that mean we get to see a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Kamaru Usman in the near future? Only time will tell.
