Anthony Hernandez will try to snap a losing streak when he faces Gregory Rodrigues in the UFC Sacramento main event Aug. 22 at Golden 1 Center in California.

As Connected MMA first reported and MMA Fighting confirmed, the middleweight bout marks Hernandez's first appearance since Sean Strickland stopped him in the third round earlier this year. Hernandez had won eight straight before that loss, finishing six opponents in the process, but Strickland stuffed his wrestling and picked him apart on the feet to hand him his first defeat since 2022.

Rodrigues brings three-fight streak into Golden 1 Center bout

Rodrigues enters on the opposite trajectory. The Brazilian has won three in a row and sits 10-3 inside the Octagon, most recently knocking out Bruno Ferreira in March to settle a score from 2023. Rodrigues has battled through the middle tier of the division with success, earning the nickname "RoboCop" for his durability and finishing power.

Hernandez is reportedly training with Strickland ahead of the Sacramento matchup despite the recent loss. The card takes place on a Saturday night in California's capital, with the full lineup still to be announced.
