Josh Hokit questioned whether Alexander Volkov deserves his UFC contract after the Russian heavyweight apparently criticized Hokit's performance in a recent title fight against Ciryl Gane.

Hokit fired back on social media with pointed comments about Volkov's own record, per Sherdog. The New Zealand heavyweight suggested Volkov should have been cut from the promotion alongside Thomas Almeida.

Hokit Questions Volkov's UFC Value

"He's lucky to still be on the roster," Hokit wrote. "Should have cut his boring ass when they cut Almeida." He added that Volkov lost to the last two opponents Hokit defeated, referencing shared competition between the heavyweights.

Hokit also mocked what he characterized as Volkov's mental approach. "Maybe he should catch my 'mental illness' since he lost to the last 2 guys I beat," he posted, suggesting the Russian needs a different mindset inside the octagon.

The exchange follows Hokit's appearance in a title fight with Gane, though the specific nature of Volkov's original criticism was not detailed in available reports. Volkov holds a lengthy UFC tenure despite recent setbacks in the heavyweight division.
