Jack Della Maddalena vs. Islam Makhachev headlines UFC 322

The UFC returns to Madison Square Garden in New York City on Nov. 15 with a fight card headlined by a welterweight title bout. 

Champion Jack Della Maddalena takes on former lightweight titleholder Islam Makhachev in the UFC 322 main event. The hight promotion made the announcement on Thursday. 

Della Maddalena (18-2) won the 170-pound championship by dethroning Belal Muhammad via unanimous decision at UFC 315 in May. "JDM" hasn't lost since 2016. He'll enter his first title defense riding an incredible 18-fight winning streak. 

Makhachev (27-1) relinquished the lightweight title in May after successfully defending the belt four times. He moved up to the welterweight division to pursue becoming a two-division UFC titleholder. He'll have that opportunity in an iconic venue. 

UFC 322 feawures a second world title bout in the co-main event. Zhang Weili relinquished her strawweight title to move up to the flyweight division to take on champion Valentina Shevchenko.
