Former NXT superstar Jazmyn Nyx appeared on the Ariel Helwani Show, where she clarified that her departure from WWE was purely financial. The former Fatal Influence member last appeared on WWE programming on the September 23 edition of NXT. She was abruptly exiled from the faction after an off-screen attack.
Nyx (real name Jade Gentile) signed a 3-year contract with the promotion after a successful tryout in 2022. Although she was keen to re-sign, she revealed that WWE did not offer her a raise on her original contract.
“Cost of living goes up every year… if you don’t get a raise, you’re losing money. That’s kind of how I looked at it, and I just felt like I had to make the decision for myself… It felt like I was losing money.

The 27-year-old told Helwani the following. “It came down to making a living. Everyone needs to make a living, and some people’s living looks different than others. After my three years and being on TV for two years, I expected there to be some sort of compensation.”
WWE offered Nyx the same contract she signed as an unknown commodity and was unwilling to budge from their proposed offer. Since her departure, Lainey Reid has joined the faction in her place. She wrestled alongside NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne against Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley on the October 21 NXT.
It is unclear whether wrestling will be in Nyx’s future, as she has offers for reality TV shows. She revealed that WWE blocked her from joining Love Island a few years ago. Whilst she does have a passion for pro wrestling and would like to do both, she admitted she has “always kind of been a reality TV girl.”
Nyx said, “I feel like I have always kind of been a reality TV girl. I feel like that’s how I have been perceived. Even growing up, people were telling me that you’re gonna be on one of those shows.”
