As the fight gets nearer, fighters do get super focused, and currently Jiri Prochazka is in that state. He’s going to face Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327, which is just days away now. Before the fight, Prochazka says he’s not paying attention to future opponents like Alex Pereira and Khamzat Chimaev.
Pereira has moved to heavyweight and is going to face Cyril Gane for the interim heavyweight belt, and he might move back down if he loses the fight. Additionally, Chimaev has multiple times talked about his move to light heavyweight. As the Czech fighter who is fighting for the vacant light heavyweight belt, he’s only paying attention to his title fight right now.
During a recent interview with MMA Fighting, he said (video here; warning: viewer discretion advised): “There is no other thing. F**k others. It’s just me and my art and what I want to show on Saturday. This is all.”
The former light heavyweight champion is aiming to get his title back. He’s fully focused on his own performance now, but he’s also keeping future opponents in mind after UFC 327. Despite the focus, MMA veteran Matt Brown has raised concerns over Prochazka’s evolution before the big fight.
MMA veteran Matt Brown has raised concerns about Jiri Prochazka’s fighting style ahead of his title fight with Carlos Ulberg. Brown believes Prochazka’s wild and risky style may be exciting, but it’s not sustainable in the long run. Meanwhile, Alex Pereira has already exposed his fighting style. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, he said:
“It’s good to evolve, too. He could always have that part of him as part of his game. I don’t mean to be the critic — he’s accomplished more than I did in my career — but I don’t see where it lasts and I don’t see where he’s evolved much at all. He’s just done more of the same.”
Matt Brown argues Jiri Prochazka hasn’t "evolved much at all" and his wild style isn’t sustainable:

After getting knocked out twice by Pereira, the Czech fighter mentioned that he has learned a lot and changed a lot of things. However, fans will have to wait and see what the 33-year-old brings differently at UFC 327.
