Jiri Prochazka has been making headlines once again ahead of UFC 320, this time for his unconventional training methods.
Since entering the UFC in 2021, the former light heavyweight champion has been open about his unique routines, which include everything from punching trees to spending time in sensory deprivation tanks.
The cameras are rolling on Prochazka this week as he prepares for his next fight against Khalil Rountree Jr at UFC 320, and UFC Embedded has spotted some of the Czech fighter’s curious strategies.
Prochazka is putting a focus on his breathing techniques as he gets ready for the title eliminator at UFC 320.
In one session, the 32-year-old was seen using a nose peg to limit his oxygen intake.
He also did several 40-second sprints with his mouth closed, not taking a single breath during each run.
The unusual approach left fans scratching their heads and laughing in equal measure.
One fan wrote: “Everything other than learning how to defend.”
A second added: “Is there anything more Jiri than this?”
A third commented: “This is one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen lol. Genuinely have no idea how this would help him at all.”
“What could possibly be the benefit of this?” another fan asked.

The main event of UFC 320 is a light heavyweight title rematch, set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this weekend.
Magomed Ankalaev defeated Alex Pereira at UFC 313 earlier this year to claim the 205lb gold.
Their second meeting follows a heated exchange at the UFC Performance Institute just last week.
In the co-main event, bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili will put his belt on the line for a fourth time against Cory Sandhagen.
First, 12 fights will precede the main event as UFC hosts a numbered card for the first time in over six weeks.
