UFC commentator Joe Rogan isn’t all that excited about the upcoming UFC White House event in June.

Earlier this month, the promotion revealed the full lineup, which features six fights in total.

When it was announced, fans were quick to criticise the quality of the card. Many felt it didn’t live up to the hype of being billed as “the greatest event of all time.”

Rogan also raised concerns about the timing of the event, pointing to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East as a reason why it might not sit well with everyone.

Rogan had previously raised significant concerns about the event, leading fans to question whether he would be on commentary duty for the occasion.

He confirmed his involvement on a recent episode of his podcast but made it clear that he wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about it.

“Yeah, I’ll be there but I’m not thrilled about it, it doesn’t seem like a wise idea… It’s kind of a gimmick, you know, there’s that.

“And people are criticizing the card but if it was any other card it’s a great card. It’s just they’re criticizing it because they said it was gonna be the greatest card of all time and it’s also just gonna be a security nightmare.”

The promotion has already confirmed that there won’t be fans in attendance at the actual event on the South Lawn. However, they’re giving away free tickets for over 80,000 fans to watch from the Ellipse, which is a public park right next door to the venue.

The huge number of people expected so close to such an important location is already raising eyebrows among security officials.

“Also they’re fighting outside – what if it rains? What if it’s hot? You’re in the middle of June. June in D.C. can get pretty warm – that affects fighters.

Dana White has never been keen on hosting fights in open-air stadiums because of how unpredictable weather can be.
