Jon Jones is confident that his greatest rival will remain in his ‘shadow’.

Jones and Daniel Cormier have recently spent time alongside one another as rival coaches on the new season of Alf Reality.

The reality show, which is similar to ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, has brought the UFC legends together one more time following their iconic rivalry.

Their two bouts for the light heavyweight title produced grudge matches between two of the very best that we’ve ever seen inside the Octagon.

Cormier’s suggestion that things are different between him and Jones now clearly hasn’t led to them burying the hatchet once and for all.

Jon Jones believes Gable Steveson will be three times the heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was

Jon Jones went off on Daniel Cormier when he was recently asked what it’s been like to spend time around his greatest rival again.

He admitted that while there were moments of levity during their filming of the reality series, he still doesn’t hold his former opponent in high regard.

If there’s one thing that ‘DC’ held over Jones, it’s his success at heavyweight, though ‘Bones’ was also able to move up a division and win the UFC title after spending the majority of his career at light heavyweight.

In an interview with Red Corner MMA, the consensus GOAT said that he believes he removed Cormier from being in the discussion as one of the greatest of all time.

He went on to say that he thinks his rival’s status as a great heavyweight will be lessened once Gable Steveson, who Jones has been a mentor to, eclipses him.

“He’ll be even lower in the rankings of the greatest heavyweight of all time because my prospect Gable Steveson is going to be three times the champion Daniel Cormier ever was and so he’ll just always be in my shadow one way or another.”

Steveson hopes to make his UFC debut this year after going from winning an Olympic gold medal in wrestling to being 2-0 in his MMA career.

Jon Jones takes a shot at Daniel Cormier when predicting potential wrestling match

Daniel Cormier is open to facing off with Jon Jones in a wrestling match to add another chapter to their legendary rivalry.

Several top UFC stars have recently weighed in with their predictions for how a matchup like this would play out in 2026.

Jones himself admitted when he was asked about this by Red Corner MMA that he’s not sure how it would go, though he followed this up with another jab at ‘DC’.

“If I wrestled against Daniel Cormier, it’d be really interesting to see what would happen. I can’t definitively say what would happen in the sport of wrestling. But, the one thing I do know is that I made him cry in front of the world.”
