UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has finally decided to respond directly to fans as tensions with interim champ Tom Aspinall continue to heat up. For those unaware, the past few months have been particularly sensitive for Jones, who’s already under pressure from UFC fans and critics over his ongoing standoff with Aspinall.
The interim champion has been vocal about his frustration, having held the title for well over a year with no clear path to unify the belts. Meanwhile, Jones has cited the need for an extended training camp and proper pay as reasons for the delay.
While Jones generally stayed away from responding to fans online, he recently took to X to clap back at a few, responding to a post wherein a fan questioned whether he actually wanted to fight Aspinall. In the process, Jones also contradicted UFC CEO Dana White, who has assured fans the fight will happen soon, and claimed that he clearly mentioned his plans with the UFC, he said:
“Yall barkin up the wrong tree, I told the Ufc my plans a long time ago. I have no clue why they haven’t shared them with you guys yet.”
