Jon Jones has revealed that he is currently in talks to appear at the upcoming UFC event being held at the White House.

After initially announcing his retirement, Jones changed his mind when he heard about the event taking place at President Donald Trump’s official residence. Now, it appears he is looking to get involved.

On the other hand, Dana White has consistently said that Jones is not part of the plans for the UFC White House card set for June 14.

Jon Jones drops key update on potential UFC return

Back in December, White famously put Jones’ chances of fighting at the White House event at ‘a billion to one’.

Now, several months down the line, it looks like the UFC boss might be seeing things differently about the event in Washington.

Jones said to fans on Saturday night: “I’m in negotiations with the UFC about this White House thing.

“I’m a very, very, very proud American, and I cannot wait to represent one more time.”

“So, we’ll see what happens.”

Jon Jones’ White House opponent: Is Alex Pereira next?

News of ongoing negotiations involving ‘Bones’ surfaced shortly after speculation began swirling about who his next opponent could be.

MMA journalist Ariel Helwani raised the possibility that Alex Pereira could end up fighting Jones at the White House event, a move that gained traction after ‘Poatan’ vacated his light heavyweight title amid rumours of a shift to heavyweight.

Helwani addressed those rumours by saying: “There have been talks of him fighting Jon Jones on the White House card.

“Jon Jones on the White House card is not dead.

“I don’t feel, as of right now, a ton of positive momentum in that direction, but I’m not here to tell you that it’s dead.

“There have been talks of this. Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira at heavyweight.”
