Jon Jones kept up the jokes at Tom Aspinall’s expense on Wednesday, keeping their feud in the headlines for another day.

The UFC heavyweight champion was left unable to continue after taking two eye pokes from Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 last weekend, adding another layer of frustration to his title reign.

Jones, who has never been shy about a bit of online banter, changed his profile picture to an avatar of a duck wearing an eyepatch, clearly poking fun at Aspinall’s calls for a fight.

That was not the end of it. ‘Bones’ kept up the eyepatch theme when he showed up at the Dirty Boxing 4 weigh-ins and took another swipe at the Briton without saying a word.

Jones turned up to the latest Dirty Boxing event on horseback, choosing a white horse with a black eyepatch over one eye.

He referenced the unique entrance after stepping onto the stage.

“You’ve gotta do it right.

“We’ve got the horse with the eyepatch on.

“We’re having a good night,” Jones said.

Latest on Tom Aspinall’s eye injury

Aspinall’s father shared a worrying update on his son’s condition following UFC 321.

Speaking about the situation, Andy Aspinall said: “It’s bad.

“It’s not good. His eye is a little bit more closed than it was. His right eye, he still can’t see anything, said it’s still just grey. They tested him on words, and he just couldn’t see anything. His left eye, 50%, he went down about four letters, and then he couldn’t see the letters.

“So, one is really, really blurry and one’s still not working.”

The next step for Aspinall will be more tests and a CT scan to check for any damage to the bone around his eye.
