They may never be friends, but Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards may not be enemies.
The ex-BMF champion enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom in the UFC courtesy of a memorable 2019, in which he won three fights in wild fashion.
Before Masvidal’s record-breaking knockout against Ben Askren and Madison Square Garden main event with Nate Diaz, ‘Gamebred’ shocked the world with a brutal victory in London.
But it wasn’t just Masvidal’s performance inside the Octagon that raised eyebrows in England’s capital…
Shortly after Masvidal knocked out Darren Till to upset ‘The Gorilla’ on home soil, the American turned his attention to Leon Edwards backstage.
The now-infamous ‘three piece and a soda’ took place at The O2, as Masvidal approached and attacked Edwards after exchanging words while ‘Rocky’ completed an interview following his own win on the card.
While that sparked heavy beef between the pair that was never settled inside the cage, Masvidal made a surprising claim about his feelings toward Edwards during his Death Row MMA podcast.
“I’m always down to fight Leon, just because we’ve got all that history and stuff,” Masvidal said.
“I’ve never had any ill will toward Leon, and I still don’t got ill will towards Leon.
“But I would still love to punch him in the face, and just settle all that s—.”
Although they may not be the kind of bitter enemies that they once were, that does not mean the former BMF champ is against sharing the cage with ‘Rocky’.
In fact, Masvidal has called to fight Edwards at the White House in 2026, having publicly walked back his retirement and requested a UFC comeback fight.
And fans would be forgiven for thinking Masvidal does hold “ill will” toward Edwards given his colorful callout…
“Leon, if you’re watching this, I’ll beat the f— out of you at the White House,” Masvidal said during an interview earlier this year.
“Leon, I will beat the f—— dog s— out of you, just like America kicked England’s ass when they were trying to take over our s—, I’m gonna send you back the same way.
“Let them make a mistake and send you to represent England, I will crash that party,” he continued. “I’ll get in shape for you Leon, don’t worry.”
