Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz 2 Date & Venue Confirmed, To Be 10-Round Boxing Bout
CLIFFORD OTO/THE STOCKTON RECORD / USA TODAY NETWORK

The long-waited rematch between former UFC fan favorites Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz is finally drawing near.

Back in November 2019, the pair locked horns for the BMF Championship, a symbolic belt introduced to reflect the attitudes of the pair at the time. "Gamebred" put on an impressive performance, largely outclassing Diaz on the feet before picking up a doctor stoppage TKO victory in the third round. The result came as a consequence of a severe cut sustained to Diaz's eyebrow.

Despite plenty of fan interest, a rematch between the pair never materialized in the Octagon. Masvidal went on to a four-fight losing skid, including back-to-back defeats opposite then-UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.

Fortunately for those who enjoyed the pair's rivalry, that mythical follow-up bout is now on the horizon.

Masvidal/Diaz II "Is A Done Deal"

Famed MMA journalist Ariel Helwani recently took to X to confirm that Diaz vs. Masvidal II is all-set for June this year. The pair will be colliding in a light heavyweight boxing bout rather than a welterweight MMA showdown again. He also discussed the matter on The MMA Hour earlier today.

"Saturday, June 1st, Kia Forum, Inglewood, California, the fabulous forum will host one of the most anticipated rematches in recent combats sports history," Helwani said. "It's going to be Nathan Diaz versus Jorge Masvidal 2, it is a done deal, it is official, they will be competing in a 10-round, light heavyweight 175 pounds boxing match, live on pay-per-view."

While there is buzz for the fight, it's worth noting that June 1st is a busy day for combat sports already. UFC 302 is expected to take place on that day. What's more, WBA and IBO Light Heavyweight Champion Dmitry Bivol will collide with Unified Light Heavyweight Champion Artur Beterbiev in a blockbuster boxing clash that day as well.
