Josh Hokit and Curtis Blaydes’ war of words continues despite mutual respect over UFC 327 war

Josh Hokit is not happy after Curtis Blaydes claimed to still not enjoy his personality after their war in Miami.

The former NFL star landed himself in the top five with a decision victory in an all-time heavyweight classic with Blaydes on Saturday night. It appears that there is a mutual respect between the two, despite an awkward build-up.

However, Hokit’s outlandish personality is still like oil and water compared to the soft-spoken Blaydes. And it rubbed the unbeaten ex-footballer the wrong way when his opponent claimed to not be a fan of his personality after the fact.

Josh Hokit hits back at Curtis Blaydes after live stream comments

During a livestream where he chatted with fans after a star-making performance, Curtis Blaydes was full of praise and respect for Josh Hokit. The one thing he did say about his rival that was negative was a dismissal of his character – presumably the one he puts on at press conferences.

“How can you not respect the guy that broke your orbital?” Blaydes joked when asked directly if he now respects Hokit. “That would be me being disingenuous if I was like ‘nah, he’s a b—-‘ because that motherf—er can scrap.

“Now, do I like his personality? Like the shtick he does? No. But do I respect him in the octagon with the gloves on? Yes. How could I not?”

Hokit took issue with this assessment, perhaps after mishearing what Blaydes had said. He wrote on X after the fact: “I carried the burden of all the hate of the whole UFC community just so he can finally be liked in his 21st UFC fight… But he wants to say he doesn’t like me as a human. [Broken heart emoji] lol.”
