Josh Hokit appears to have some degree of jaw injury after a massive night for his UFC career in Miami.
The former NFL star landed himself in the heavyweight top five with an all-time classic victory over Curtis Blaydes. He won both the Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night bonuses for UFC 327, which means he will leave with $150,000 on top of his base purse.
Unfortunately, those bonuses didn’t come as easy as his original two, which he won with first round knockouts. He was brutalized by Blaydes – who was 28lb heavier than him at weigh-ins, before being sent to hospital after coming out with a Unanimous Decision victory.
Somehow, Josh Hokit managed to cut a promo to Joe Rogan in the octagon despite looking like he was going to pass out from 15 intense minutes of action. He called out interim title challenger Alex Pereira, and listed off some pre-prepared rhymes.
However, he was unable to make it to the press conference as both he and Curtis Blaydes were transported to the hospital. Instead, Hokit shared a video from his ambulance where he laughed before noting that his jaw was quite sore.
He has yet to react to his bonus wins, which mean that he now has won more performance prizes than he has UFC fights. But the brash former NFL star has already dropped merchandise based on what he had said about Pereira.
“Help me pay for my hospital bill,” Hokit wrote alongside a promotional post for his merchandise. “All jokes aside thanks to the UFC for letting me prove to myself that I’m as tough as I think l am.”
He then tweeted: “Just got back from the hospital… No broken bones ‘cuz I’m made of steel… Y’all are welcome… 200k.”
The divisive heavyweight has yet to react to the news that he is fighting on the UFC White House card against Derrick Lewis. But at the post-fight press conference, Dana White confirmed that he had confirmed his interest to matchmaker Mick Maynard as he was being put in the ambulance.

“He walked the talk tonight,” White told media after the event. “When people come out and say stupid s— and have sort of a shtick, it’s not my thing. But nothing but respect for both of those men tonight in that fight.
“It was unbelievable and you won’t hear a word from me from here on out about him, he walked the talk. It’s one thing to have a shtick and act whatever. It’s another thing to go in and fight the number five ranked guy in the world who is a bad dude and do what he did to him tonight.”
