After a short delay, ONE Friday Fights 109 will be treated to the debut of Japanese kickboxing superstar Kaito Ono. He meets Mohammad Siasarani in featherweight kickboxing action on Friday, May 23. The pair will square off inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Muay Thai mecca: Lumpinee Stadium. 

Kaito Ono Brings Impressive Pedigree to ONE Championship Ahead of Debut

Before joining ONE Championship, Kaito Ono established himself as one of the greatest Japanese strikers on the planet. He’s accumulated an astonishing 58 victories in his professional career. On top of that, 26 of those have come by knockout.

The Team F.O.D product is a former Shoot Boxing and Rise Champion. Along with that, Kaito Ono has built a reputation as a diverse, dynamic striker. Meshing that with his knockout power, and it’s easy to see why he’s been value for money whenever he sets foot in the ring.  

The 27-year-old was due to make his debut this past March at ONE 172 inside Japan’s Saitama Super Arena. However, the match-up was scrapped just days before. Now with a date set and an opponent matched once more, it’s safe to say Kaito Ono is itching to lace up the gloves again.

Sizing Up Siasarani Ahead of Fight vs. Kaito Ono

Meanwhile, Siasarani has become a force to be reckoned with throughout his ONE tenure. Last time around, he glistened in a one-sided showing versus Liu Mengyang at ONE Friday Fights 105. So he’ll be eager to extend his momentum against Kaito Ono at ONE Friday Fights 109.

The Team Mehdi Zatout student has already faced many of the best on offer in ONE. He’s battled Shadow Singha Maynn and Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in Muay Thai. He’s also registered a win over striking veteran Avatar PK Saenchai in his promotional debut.

The 22-year-old is known for never shying away from a challenge. In addition, his ability to absorb damage – as seen throughout his run as he drops his hands, inviting his nemesis in. All those and more have quickly made him a favorite in the weekly combat sports series.

Undoubtedly, fans around the world will be watching closely when the fiery featherweights lock up. Onlookers can expect Kaito Ono to offer up a more technical performance with lightning-fast combinations, while Siasarani will test his Japanese foe’s will with constant pressure.

Taking out Siasarani will see Kaito Ono capture the attention of the featherweight kickboxing division. While a victory for the Iranian star will only elevate him further. So fans should keep an eye on this high-risk affair once the bell rings on May 23.
