Khabib Nurmagomedov has shared some shockingly nice thoughts about Conor McGregor.

The legendary UFC duo were bitter rivals before facing off for lightweight gold in October 2018.

A brawl broke out between their teams after Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor at UFC 229.

Ever since, the two men have taken sporadic swipes at each other online and through the media.

Khabib Nurmagomedov surprisingly supports Conor McGregor

On Saturday night, UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov took part in a Q&A session in New York.

During the event, the retired Russian fighter leaked the date and iconic venue for Islam Makhachev’s clash with welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena.

Nurmagomedov also shared some shockingly nice thoughts on Conor McGregor, despite refusing to mention him by name.

“I don’t wanna mention his name,” the 29-0 Russian began.

“This is punishment… The most beautiful part of this is Allah always give the chance to come back.

“We always have in this world the chance to come back, and this is the most beautiful thing.

“It doesn’t matter how you’ve been, Allah is gonna give you a chance always to come back.

“I think he has a chance. He has to change how he is living.

“Why am I talking about this? If he’s gonna change, he can change with him so many other lives too.

“That’s why I wish him to change himself. If he’s not gonna change, it will be punishment all his life.”

Conor McGregor’s comeback

Conor McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.

The Irishman recently re-entered the UFC drug testing pool to move his comeback one step closer.

McGregor has expressed an interest in competing on the UFC White House card on July 4, 2026.

That’s a long way off, and only time will tell if McGregor will ever fight inside the Octagon again.
