Despite the consensus that he is one of the greatest of all time, one UFC legend doesn't consider Khabib Nurmagomedov a 'real fighter'.
'The Eagle' is the only elite fighter in UFC history to end his career unbeaten—doing so with a title win and three defenses under his belt. But even with his dominance inside the octagon, not everybody thinks he was that good.
While making an appearance on the Full Send Podcast, Nate Diaz made a bold claim about his former division rival.
Diaz doesn't consider what Khabib Nurmagomedov does so well as real fighting and was sure to make his thoughts known.
"F*** Khabib," Diaz said. "Khabib is the worst. Just look at him, he ran off, he's a jock. It's not my style of fighting. I don't like it."
Diaz and Khabib have long been embroiled in a feud and were unfortunate to not meet each other in the octagon during their time in the sport.
The battle between their two teams is still going on, with a water bottle-throwing incident taking place just days ago.
During his Full Send interview, Diaz took aim at Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier for the style they bring to the cage.
"If that's how you fight, that's cool," Diaz stated. "But the style in general, he's not a real fighter."
"[Khabib], DC, certain guys. I'm just not interested in that kind of fighting at all. Not wrestling because I love wrestling. It's just the jocky attitude. I'm a real fighter."
Though Khabib's style didn't resonate with everybody, it's hard to deny just how dominant the Russian was at the height of his career.
Bowing out of the sport with a perfect 29-0 record, the now-36-year-old will forever go down as one of the greatest, whether fans loved his style or not.
