Khamzat Chimaev took to social media last night to offer $200,000 to any Olympic gold medalist who will spar him – and he may have his answer.

The UFC middleweight champion is currently in camp for a grudge fight with Sean Strickland at UFC 328 that has been building for years. He also appears to have put together his next move as he announced on Saturday that he is joining RAF Wrestling for a match once his first title defense is done.

And new footage from the wrestling promotion’s event on Saturday indicates that Olympic gold medalist and RAF light-heavyweight champion Kyle Snyder is going to be the man to answer the call.

Khamzat Chimaev lays out $200,000 challenge to Olympic gold medal wrestlers

After announcing that he had signed with RAF Wrestling on Saturday, UFC champion Khamzat Chimaev took to social media to make a big money challenge to any wrestler who holds a gold medal from the Olympic games.

A former standout on the mats in his own right, Chimaev is undefeated in MMA largely as a result of his impressive ground game.

Writing on X, Chimaev said: “Poor wrestlers started throwing challenges my way, I’m having trouble finding sparring partners, waiting for any Olympic champion to step up for sparring. If he survives, I’ll give him 200 thousand dollars.”

Kyle Snyder is the top pick for Khamzat Chimaev’s challenge

Reporter Adam Zubayraev was on hand in Philadelphia on Saturday night for Arman Tsarukyan’s dramatic win over Urijah Faber. And during Friday’s media day, he asked Kyle Snyder about Chimaev as a potential opponent.

“I think it could be interesting,” Snyder said when asked about the possibility of the match, albeit without knowledge of his signing.

“I mean, everybody is interested in Khamzat, he’s a big time celebrity. I’ve seen him wrestle and train and I know that he’s a pretty good wrestler so I’d like to compete against him if he’d like to.”
