Light heavyweight Jan Blachowicz challenges Kamaru Usman to a fight after recent remarks

Jan Blachowicz vs. Kamaru Usman in the octagon is an exciting prospect. It looks like the two UFC fighters have taken it upon themselves to make it happen. After Usman’s recent comments, Blachowicz took to X to send out an invite to the UFC welterweight.

The former light heavyweight champion recently sent out a tweet on X. Jan Blachowicz retweeted a post from ‘Championship Rounds’ about Kamaru Usman’s comments about him.

Kamaru Usman had recently talked about his 2022 face-off with Jan Blachowicz. Talking about it with Henry Cejudo on the ‘Pound 4 Pound’ podcast, Usman said that he was outsizing Blachowicz. Usman even talked about wanting to move up weight classes to face Blachowicz in the light-heavyweight championship. This was during the height of Kamaru Usman’s reign in the welterweight division, months away from his first loss against Leon Edwards at UFC 278.

Kamaru Usman and Jan Blachowicz both have taken some time out of the octagon for now. Usman’s last fight was in the middleweight division. It was a last-minute showdown with Khamzat Chimaev. Meanwhile, Jan Blachowicz is currently recovering from multiple surgeries and plans to be back in the octagon sometime soon.

Jan Blachowicz wants revenge against Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira and Jan Blachowicz faced off at UFC 291 in Pereira’s debut fight in the light-heavyweight division. Blachowicz took Pereira head-on and went the distance with the knockout artist. Alex Pereira won the fight via split decision but Blachowicz believes he deserves a rematch.

He is not a better fighter than me, and I believe that I deserve the rematch… I still believe that I won this fight… I believe that I deserve the rematch. He knocked out everybody – not me. When I come back, I believe that I can fight against him one more time.

Blachowicz even has a plan laid out for how his rematch with Pereira should take place. According to him, Pereira should take on Dagestani fighter, Magomed Ankalaev. By the time those two fight it out, Blachowicz would be healthy enough to come in and take on the winner.
