A UFC legend has ties to the two men who will headline Misfits’ event on Saturday night.

Darren Till faces Luke Rockhold in Manchester, England this weekend in a boxing match between two former UFC stars.

This will be the Brit’s third appearance in Misfits Boxing, having secured two wins earlier this year to get his career back on track after parting ways with the UFC in 2022.

There is a big factor heading into this fight which goes back to the two men’s MMA careers.

Rockhold has suffered some big knockout losses in the past, and one of his biggest rivals is worried about one aspect if this happens again on August 30.

Michael Bisping says Darren Till might take away from his win over Luke Rockhold at UFC 199

While Luke Rockhold’s UFC career ended with three consecutive defeats, his most devastating setback came before this.

The American looked to make his first defense of the middleweight title in the main event of UFC 199 against an opponent that he’d beaten in the past.

With Rockhold seemingly overlooking his challenger, Michael Bisping was able to pull off a remarkable upset to win the title by stopping the champion in the first round.

Since retiring, Bisping has remained a key figure in MMA, which has allowed him to become good friends with Darren Till over the years.

‘The Count’ previewed the upcoming fight in a video on his YouTube channel where he raised a concern about a potential outcome.

While Bisping didn’t finish his thought, he suggested that Till beating Rockhold might take away from his own win over the American, even if that fight took place nine years ago.

“It’s a tricky one because Darren Till’s a good mate of mine and I wish him all the best in his endeavors and I always want friends to win fights. It’s gonna suck though if he beats Rockhold because it takes away a little bit from me because obviously I beat him to become the champion and then if Darren Till goes out there and knocks him out, even though it was ten years ago.”

Michael Bisping predicts that Darren Till will finish Luke Rockhold on Saturday night

Michael Bisping isn’t just concerned about Darren Till replicating or improving upon his win over Luke Rockhold, he believes it’s the most likely outcome.

‘The Count’ spoke about how he was able to land his left hook with devastating impact at UFC 199 by going towards the confident American champion.

Bisping went on to say that if he was able to find a home for this shot, there’s no doubt that a high-level striker like Till will be able to do the same.

“I do think Darren Till gets the victory… Darren Till’s left hand is absolute dynamite… I think Darren Till goes out there and probably gets the knockout. It might even be in the first round. But, I tell you what, may the best man win. I wish Luke Rockhold nothing but the best.”
